This falafel wrap is not your ordinary kind of wrap - it is loaded with all the good things that keep you going throughout the day, making it a perfect option for a healthy and filling lunch!

Although I sometimes prefer the simple things in life, I am not one to keep it simple when it comes to flavour and food! I love experimenting with taste and unusual combinations that add something extra to an otherwise generic dish. So for this, I I have sprinkled on a helping of @yumandyay_ Milled Mixed Seeds to add a bit of good fat and protein to a carb heavy meal, as well as a generous amount of @sriracha_fg for a lovely kick. And I can confirm it tastes absolutely delicious!

The falafels I have used are @aldiuk Morracan Spiced Falafels and they have a delicious hint of spiced flavour to them which compliments the overall taste of wrap as a whole. And what is the perfect partner for falafels? Why some hummus of course! Plus, to give a bit of extra goodness I have used a seeded wrap as opposed to a plain one. So there you have it, yummy and wholesome!

DON'T LIKE IT HOT?

That's all good, not everyone is a fan of spice. You can easily enjoy this wrap without the Sriracha! The hummus adds a bit of 'sauce' to the wrap anyway as falafels can be quite dry on their own, however if you do want to add some relish, I'd recommend opting for either mint sauce or ketchup!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 seeded wrap

  • 2-3 baby gem lettuce leaves

  • 1 tbsp reduced fat hummus

  • 1/2 sweet pointed red pepper - sliced into 1cm wide sticks

  • 3 falafels (I used Aldi's Morrocan Spiced ones but you can opt for any)

  • 1 tsp Yum & Yay's Milled Mixed Seeds (or any other brand/type of milled seeds)

  • a generous squirt of Flying Goose's Sriracha sauce

METHOD:

  1. Lay the wrap flat on a plate then heat as per the packet instructions (usually 8 secs in the microwave).

  2. Start with laying out the lettuce in a line in the centre of the open wrap. Next add the hummus and spread evenly across the lettuce, then place the red pepper evenly. Crumble up the falafel with your hands and spread atop the hummus. Sprinkle on the milled seeds then finally, squirt on some Sriracha sauce (or any other sauce of your choosing).

  3. To close the wrap, fold the end that is parallel with your line of ingredients over them, using your fingers to hug them under. Next fold in the two ends before rolling it closed.

  4. Cut in half at a slight angle and enjoy!
