I am a huge advocate of making things from scratch, including sauces. However, we all have those days where you either just don't have the time, or the energy, but you still want something that tastes like a home cooked meal.

There is so much variety with supermarket's own pasta sauces that you can't really go wrong when it comes to a quick fix. Of course, with me being me I still need to add in a little extra of this and that but they do the trick!

For this recipe I've combined 2 different sauces, as well as decided to try out Heck's chicken sausages instead of using chicken breast pieces. The outcome = DELICIOUS! You got the right amount of creamy pasta sauce dreams are made of and the addition of spices just makes this the perfect pasta bowl without the fuss!

INGREDIENTS:

RECIPE:

  1. Boil the pasta in a large enough pan as per the packet instructions.

  2. Whilst the pasta is boiling, heat 1 tsp of oil in a large pan then return the heat to low.

  3. Add in garlic and green chillies and sizzles for 30 seconds then add in the sausages.

  4. Stir well then sprinkle in turmeric, mixed herbs and salt. Mix well then cover and allow the sausages to cook on low-med heat for 5-10mins, stirring occasionally to keep from sticking.

  5. By this point your pasta should be cooked so drain and leave to one side.

  6. Once the sausages have cooked, add in the 2 pasta sauces and passata, then mix well. Add in your red wine and stir again, then cover and leave to simmer on low heat for a couple of minutes to allow all the flavours to mix together well.

  7. Once the sauce starts to bubble, add in the pasta and mix in well. Cover and leave to simmer for another 5-10mins.

  8. Serve with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese and salt and pepper if you need.
